I’m writing this as a cautionary tale for anyone, especially parents, considering buying glasses online. My experience has been infuriating, and I feel compelled to share it after a pointless conversation with their support team. To put it bluntly, this place is the worst. I've ordered glasses with added warranty and needed a replacement due to the frame breaking, and each time I've needed a lens replacement, they tell me my choice of frame is out of stock. They give me store credit plus a small percentage, which doesn't make sense. How do I end up with a cheaper and lighter pair than the previous? I'm so tired of dealing with this crap from GlassesUSA, plus a $30 deductible for the replacement. It’s a total joke and robbery, and I had to call them to try and get a straight answer.
Customer: I’m calling about my son’s replacement glasses. For the second time, the frame he needs is "out of stock" and you’re just giving me store credit. Why do I also have to pay a $30 deductible for a cheaper frame? My credit value keeps decreasing.
CS Rep: I understand your frustration. I can pull up your order history. The deductible is part of the warranty replacement process, and store credit is issued when an item is discontinued.
Customer: But that’s not fair. You’re penalizing me because you can’t keep frames in stock. I started with a $189 pair, and now I’m forced to get something worth $130, and pay you $30 for the privilege. It feels like a scam.
CS Rep: I do apologize for the experience, sir. It's certainly not our intention. Let me see what I can do. I can waive the $30 deductible on your next order and add a $25 courtesy credit to your account for the inconvenience.
Customer: So I’m still losing money on this deal. Fine, whatever. Just apply the credit. I’m not sure I’ll even use it.
